This is our first child...er, dog...Valentine. She was born the end of Jan., 1996, and we got her right before we moved to Galesburg. Doesn't seem like it's been 10 1/2 yrs. Anyway, I don't know if you can tell or not, but she's sticking her tongue out. Actually, she was licking, and Shawn just captured it like this.
This is how I feel. I just want to stick my tongue out at everyone/thing, and say FOOEY.
Ok, let me whine for a minute - just to get it off my chest.
Not only did we lose one of the most precious persons in the world right before school started, but we changed curriculums and are trying to get into a routine there (and the curriculum is GREAT, but a lot more for mommy to do right now), the kids are in their fall sports (which means mommy is a true "soccer" mom - & football & dance & Latin & piano), and we have all been sick for the last week with summer/fall colds - the nasty kind, and sick daddy leaves EARLY in the a.m. for Vegas (for work) until Sunday night leaving sick mommy & 3 out of 4 sick kids. WAAAA (Sarah, did I spell that right?).
It's now 12:10 a.m. (Thur), and I'm wide awake, even though I just took 3 "knock-you-out" cold pills...so here I am. Done studying for tomorrows lessons...kids in bed & asleep...dogs all tuckered out...Shawn trying to get a few hours in before he gets up at 2:30 a.m., and even though there are a lot of words, I don't have a lot to say. Hmmm.
Ok...well, now that I've gotten my whining done...I'll try to go to bed.
Quick Edit: It's now 1:08 a.m. Just got back from the kids' rooms... Hunter came down with a bad earache (so make that 4 out of 4 kids sick). So I found his ear drops - gave them to him along with a little nyquil to help him sleep. I go in to make sure he's getting in bed ok, and JayCee is up in Hunter's bunk bed...crying, and Brock was walking around in circles in the middle of the room. So I have JayCee go back to bed, and get Hunter up in his bed, and get Brock settled back in the bottom bed. Then go make sure JayCee's ok. I asked her why she was in Hunter's bed - and she said (crying the whole time) "becasue Hunter told me to get in his bed at 3 o' clock". Now, I have no idea if she even knows what she said!!!! But...this is just another day in the...no make that NIGHT in the life at the Karns'.

I thought you might like to know that I viewed your blog. Cute dog. When I was a child, we had a dalmation -- his name was Duke and he was hyperactive, but I think that was primarily because we were not home enough to give him enough attention.
That sounds like a typical night at the Karns. I'm sorry to hear everyone is sick. I was just thinking yesterday about being sick like the second night I came to stay. Why? I don't know.
I love the pic of Val sticking out her tongue.
I have been told that God will not give you more than you can handle. He may try you.You are strong in your walk and satan is mad. There must be something great going to come out of all this.Hang in there and keep praying.Your all in my prayers.
I cannot imagine dealing with everyone in the house sick for a prolonged time. We've been blessed in that it rarely hits everyone at once, and usually on for short spurts. For what ever reason, it seems I have been the one to get sick for the last several years, and that is hard for me to deal with, because I used to NEVER be sick. I guess the good news is, that it passes, and the routine does level out a bit with time.
Praying for you all...
